Arsenal add Premier League star to summer transfer shortlist

Arsenal add Premier League star to summer transfer shortlist are reported to have added Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo to a summer transfer shortlist as the Gunners seek to strengthen in wide forward areas.Mbeumo has consistently impressed in the Premier League since Brentford’s promotion in 2021, but the Cameroon international has reached a new level so far in 2024/25 with 13 goals at the halfway stage. Only Mohamed Salah (18) and Erling Haaland (16) have scored more. Interest from top-flight rivals isn't anything new, with Liverpool and Newcastle United similarly linked with Mbeumo before the January window opened. But Bees boss Thomas Frank wished any suitor "good luck" in their attempts to prise the player away and insisted "nothing will happen", Not now, but not never is how Arsenal are seemingly taking that. Sky Sport Germany has reported that the Gunners are looking at a possible approach in the summer instead

Maresca comments on Caicedo at right back; but still in denial about Chelsea potential

Enzo Maresca responds to a press conference question. Enzo Maresca has just taken his press conference following Chelsea’s win over Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge, and as you’d expect he was ultra positive. The coach was asked to comment on Moises Caicedo, after the midfielder put in a real shift as a sort of hybrid midfielder/defender, accommodating Enzo Fernandez in the middle. “We are always looking for balance on and off the ball. Enzo did fantastic today once again. Moises, again. Today’s game is very difficult to find one of them who was not good. They were all good and that was important.” Caicedo has been one of the league’s best central midfielders all year, today he was even more useful to the team, doing what Malo Gusto and Marc Cucurella have been doing but in reverse – playing in central midfield and then dropping to full back, rather than being a full back who advances into midfield. Maresca holds strong on title denial For all that he was willing to praise Caicedo,...

Star Chelsea player is considering an exit

Reports from  OneFootball  indicate that  Chelsea ‘s captain, Reece James, is mulling a move to  Barcelona  or other clubs in warmer climates, such as Benfica. This comes as a result of his continued and persistent hamstring and muscle issues. The physiotherapists have told him that if he moves to a place with a warmer climate and a slower-paced league, like La Liga or the Portuguese Primera Liga, he will have a diminished risk of injury and potentially extend his top-level career. Despite all these reports, sources close to James maintain that his main focus is Chelsea, where he was now back to full training. However, the interest of Barcelona in signing a natural right-back might make this move appealing if health benefits tally with career opportunities. Current situation of Reece James Reece James’s alleged signing to Barcelona has led to speculations as allied with reasons related to health issues coupled with suggestions from physiotherapists. Captain Kane unhappy at England squad withdrawals

Captain Harry Kane is unhappy with the number of players who have withdrawn from the latest England squad, insisting "England comes before club". Eight players have dropped out of the squad for Lee Carsley's final two matches as interim manager before Thomas Tuchel takes charge in January. "I think England comes before anything. England comes before club," Kane told ITV Sport. "England is the most important thing you play as a professional footballer and Gareth [Southgate] was hot on that and he wasn't afraid to make decisions if, you know, that started to drift from certain players." When asked if the desire to play for England has drifted this international break, Kane said: "Yeah, it's a shame this week obviously. "I think it's a tough period of the season, maybe that's been taken advantage of a little bit. "I don't really like it if I'm totally honest. I think England comes before anything, any club si...

It is a sitter” – Sky Sports man can’t believe what he witnessed Chelsea star do at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea went into the halftime break of their Premier League clash with Arsenal level but the tale of the opening 45 minutes could have been different had Malo Gusto scored from two yards out.  The first half was a bit of a dull affair as the game lacked chances with Gabriel Martinelli going closest for Arsenal, although Kai Havertz had a strike chalked off for being offside. Chelsea, however, had the best chance in the opening phase of the game. With 23 minutes on the clock, Pedro Neto sent a beautiful ball to the back post, only for Gusto to head the delivery over from two yards out. The defender should have made it 1-0 to the Blues and if things don’t play out positively for Enzo Maresca’s team, it will be an opportunity the 21-year-old will be kicking himself over later on tonight. Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson could not believe he witnessed Gusto miss the chance at Stamford Bridge and expressed his opinion on the “sitter” during the halftime break – Paul Merson was st...

Victor Osimhen responds to Chelsea transfer link ahead of January window | Football

I’m here as a Galatasaray player, I’m happy here,’ Osimhen said after scoring two first-half goals in the win over Spurs. ‘Since I came the Galatasaray fans, the club, I saw how big a family this club is. The way they have treated me and my family in a wonderful manner. It’s important to be able to give them my all on the pitch.  ‘I’ve seen a lot of the speculation linking me out of the club in January, I can state through me now I’m going to be here until the end of the season. ‘And then I don’t know what Galatasaray and Napoli are negotiating but of course, if they come to me to speak about one or two things regarding this club I would consider it, of course. ‘But now I’m here, I’m focused on this team, I’m focused on the objective the club has set and I want to give my all and make sure that we win the league and if we can go further in the Europa League we can win it also because we have a good squad. ‘So far I’m enjoying my stay in Istanbul, it’s an amazing club I’m in....
